Here to Help

Bicycle Store

This bike service takes approximately 2 hours and includes:

Brake Service - Ensuring that your brakes are in good working condition allows you to stop quickly and reliably, which can be especially important in emergency situations. Your brakes will be cleaned, inspected, and adjusted for improved safety.

Drivetrain service - Shifting will be smoother, your components will last longer, and you'll generally have a better ride as a result of having a clean and well-maintained drivetrain.

Headset and bottom bracket adjustment - Your headset holds the steering together tightly whilst keeping the steering smooth. Therefore it is important to have it serviced. As well, a bottom bracket adjustment will enhance your stability. Ensuring a comfortable and easy ride for you.

Wheel hub adjustment - If your wheel feels rough when you spin them, it’s probably time for a service. A wheel hub adjustment can help to guarantee a comfortable ride that is neither stiff nor rough.

Wheels trued for correct alignment  - Uneven wear can compromise safety and reduce the smoothness of your ride because crooked wheels can cause jerking and chattering. Therefore, getting it serviced is the best option.

REGULAR SERVICE

A regular bike service includes the following:

Gears adjusted and tested - Your gears will be tested by shifting through all of the gears and checking for smooth, seamless transitions between each one. We'll also listen out for any odd noises or resistance when gear-shifting. We'll also look visually for any signs of wear or damage to the chain, cassette or crankset.

Brakes adjusted and tested - We will start by adjusting the brake pads so that they are properly aligned and have the right amount of clearance from the brake rotor or wheel rim. As well, we will adjust the brake lever so that it feels comfortable and easy to operate.

Tyres inflated to correct pressures and inspected - Your bike tyres will be inflated using a pump that forces air into the tyre through the valve. After inflating the tyre, our team will inspect the tyre for any signs of damage or wear such as cuts or bulges.

- Nuts and bolts checked - Our professionals will inspect all fastened items on your bike, including nuts and bolts. They will check to make sure none of these components are loose, and tighten them if necessary. This will help ensure safe riding.

TESTING - After the adjustments have been made, we will test the bike through operating all functions in the workshop and then out on the road. This is to ensure that everything is safe and working effectively.

Do I need this service?
You will need to service your bike more frequently if you ride it every day but don't give it much attention. Generally, if you commute to work on a bike daily, you should have it serviced every six months. If you use it frequently, every seven to nine months will suffice for a maintenance visit.

Spinning Bike Wheel

Cleaning your bike is the easiest way to ensure that your bike and its components last longer. Whether it gets muddy on the trails or grime from the morning commute, regular cleansing will minimise wear to the vital moving components.

Here at Devil Bykes, our team will clean all of the muck and grime thoroughly ensuring we do not use anything to harm or alter the appearance. We will then rinse and dry the bike, and finally, apply protector and lubricant to moving parts components. We use Muc-Off products and enthusiastically support their ethos to use environmentally sensitive products and reduce single-use plastics.

Benefits of getting a bike wash
Aside from the obvious advantages of routine cleaning, having your bike washed will help you spot any early indications of wear or damage that could worsen over time. Noticing these early on means that you can tackle these issues before they get worse.

Having cleaner bike components, especially your drivetrain, will allow for enhanced performance on the trails and typically give your components a longer life span. Though, this depends on how you ride your bike. You might want to think about giving your bike a thorough wash more frequently if you ride regularly throughout the year. But that's why we're here!

Why getting a Bike Wash is important
For optimal performance, it's essential to keep your bike's components clean and lubricated. Lubrication shields moving parts from excessive frictional wear and prevent corrosion and seizing.
