Service Description

At our store, we understand the importance of being environmentally conscious and reducing waste. That's why we offer a recycling program for old, worn-out bicycle tyres and tubes. For a small fee, we'll send them to Velorim, a company that has been researching recycling methodologies for these materials since 2018. By choosing to recycle your old tyres and tubes with us, you can be sure that they won't end up in a landfill. Plus, if you purchase new tyres and tubes from us, recycling your old ones is completely free… Velorim uses a process called shredding and granulation to separate the tyres and tubes into their constituent parts: rubber, steel, and fiber. Each of these materials is then sent to different recovery destinations, such as safety flooring, construction, and insulation. The most exciting outcome of this process is that the rubber is reprocessed into new raw materials called Velo-Butylene™ and Velo-SBR™, which can be used to manufacture new products. Velorim is constantly researching and developing new ways to safely recycle every component of bicycle tyres and tubes. This multiple recycling approach ensures that there is zero waste sent to landfills, zero waste incinerated, and zero waste exported. By partnering with Velorim, we are able to make cycling more environmentally friendly and sustainable. In summary, if you want to be eco-friendly and responsible, consider recycling your old tyres and tubes with us. Not only will you be doing your part in reducing waste, but you'll also be supporting a company that is dedicated to finding new and innovative ways to recycle these materials. We're committed to making cycling green and sustainable for everyone. Devil Bykes If you are interested in this bike service, call us at 07775 582898.
