Bike Fitting

Why get a bike fit?

Rarely are bikes perfect from day one, causing an endless cycle of adjustments to find the right solution. From everyday to high performance riders, everyone is affected. Getting a bike fit takes away the guessing game. Making one change in one area can have a dramatic effect in another, so approaching the fit from a holistic approach is important.

For riders with a more performance based perspective, a poor fit can have a negative impact on efficiency and aerodynamics, so getting the position fully dialed in could make the difference when every second counts.

Bike fits are also key when looking to buy a new bike, either off the shelf or custom build. The measurements we take give us a good point of reference when it comes to finding the most suitably sized frames. Things like stem length and bar width are also important to get right the first time, saving both time and money.

what's in a bike fit?

A bike fit allows us to look closely at the interaction between the rider themselves, and the bike, meaning we can address any discomfort that might arise from being in the incorrect position.

We start by looking at the current setup, identifying where the problems are and what we can do to address them, through a combination of rider input and an understanding of biomechanics. We can then begin to work on these issues from the ground up.

After the bike fit is complete, we note down the final measurements on our bike fit report  and customers will receive a copy. This will make it easy to copy the measurements across to any other bikes, or to reset the bike if it is being disassembled for transport.
